NB PLAYS! On the Road

Recorded on May 11th, 2015

Last week, we took NB PLAYS! on the road to present at Physical & Health Education Canada’s National Conference in Banff, Alberta.

The beautiful Banff Centre welcomed hundreds of delegates from across Canada, all promoters of health, physical activity and education for children and youth. Educators, public health administrators, recreation leaders and physical education specialists were all in attendance as we gave an overview of New Brunswick’s own NB PLAYS!, including a chance to page through our freshly printed copies of The PLAYBOOK.

We had a great time exploring the Rockies and attending interesting and engaging conference sessions. All in all, it was a success, providing an opportunity for delegates to network with colleagues and increase their knowledge and skills to foster healthy active living for children and youth in their communities.

A Successful Launch!

Recorded on January 19th, 2015

There was standing room only at the Town of Oromocto’s Hazen Centre as the Deputy Minister of Healthy and Inclusive communities, Edith Doucet, addressed the diverse crowd. Launch attendees included key stakeholders from recreation, health, education and childcare, as well as our After School Champions and Leaders from several First Nation communities. Smoothies from The PLAYBOOK’s recipe section were blended up and served, thanks to children and youth from Oromoto’s Department of Recreation and Tourism’s After School Program, and the room was abuzz as original videos of New Brunswick after school program successes were revealed.

All in all, it was a great day for Recreation New Brunswick and NB PLAYS!, and fantastic to see so many in support of creating a healthier, happier province.
