Jim Fox Award of Distinction
Annually, Recreation N.B. seeks nominations for the Jim Fox Award of Distinction. This award is presented to an individual in recognition of their meritorious and significant achievement at the community or provincial level. The recipient shall have made a significant and distinct contribution to the field of recreation through such areas as growth, development and/or enhancement of recreation. The nominee will also have promoted high standards and public awareness of Recreation in N.B., and have enjoyed a distinguished career in the field.

All members or affiliates of Recreation N.B. are entitled to submit nominations for this award.


Randy Dickinson Community Inclusion Award
Recreation N.B. Community Inclusion Award is presented on an annual basis for the purpose of recognizing an individual, program or facility that has furthered the inclusion of persons with disabilities within the area of sport, recreation and active living in New Brunswick.

Nomination submissions must demonstrate how a program or a facility has contributed to the full inclusion of persons with disabilities within their respective communities. All members and affiliates of Recreation N.B. are entitled to submit nominations for this award. Completion of the Nomination Form in addition to the attachment of supporting documentation is required.

Recreation New Brunswick Awards
The Recreation N.B. Awards Program recognize organizations, municipalities, individuals and future leaders working or studying in the field of recreation and parks. These awards celebrate the innovative programs that are enhancing our communities and the dedicated individuals who are advancing our field. To recommend a deserving organization or sector champion for a Recreation N.B. Award, please fill out our nomination form.
Recreation NB Award of Merit
Annually, Recreation N.B. seeks nominations for the Recreation N.B. Award of Merit. This award is presented to an individual, community, facility, or group in recognition of their meritorious and significant achievement at the community or provincial level. The recipient shall have made a significant and distinct contribution to the field of recreation through such areas as growth, development and/or enhancement of recreation. The nominee will also have promoted high standards and public awareness of Recreation in New Brunswick.

All members or affiliates of Recreation N.B. are entitled to submit nominations for this award. Please complete the nomination form together with an information sheet that fully describes the contributions of the nominee keeping in mind the above selection criteria.

Student Recognition Award
This award ($1000.00) recognizes a New Brunswick student enrolled in a post secondary program related to recreation and/or active living, and who has contributed to recreation and/or physical activity services in New Brunswick through volunteer activities, work experiences or studies. The student must have been registered full time over the past year in a post secondary program related to recreation and/or physical activity.

The student must be a member of Recreation N.B. Nominations may be submitted by a community, an educational institution, an association or by an individual. Please note that students may nominate themselves or other students.

Supporting Documentation:

Proof of post secondary enrolment in a recreation/physical activity related field over the past year

Two letters of support stating the students’ contribution to the field of recreation.

A resume which includes: Information concerning participation in any special courses or workshops which are not offered by post secondary institutions; Any involvement with student societies and activities (i.e. holding office in an undergraduate)
Excellence in Older Adult Programming Award
​
This award recognizes and celebrates the efforts and dedication of individuals or groups who lead and contribute to the field of older adults’ wellness and recreation through programs that enhance wellbeing and health. This award honours an individual or group for their outstanding leadership contribution to older adults’ health and leisure. Through programming, this individual/group has a significant impact on the lives of older adults. This individual/group demonstrates exceptional efforts to increase wellness through recreation for those they serve.
